I have developed a new methodology for creating finite element contact model of human patella and femur cartilage based on magnetic resonance (MR) images of the knee using software tools including ABAQUS and TrueGrid. The goal is to have meshed aspect ratios under 10, preferrably under 5, and a mesh smooth enough for contact analyses. See Mesh slideshow for details
